New life in the spring reminds us of Jesus' new life.
He rose from the dead on Easter Sunday with new life!

I arose Sunday morning before daybreak and quickly dressed. I met with Mary (James' Mother) and Salome on the streets of Jerusalem. We were going to the tomb where Jesus' was buried to anoint His body with oil and cover it with spices. We had to wait till Sunday, because it is against the Commandments to work on the Sabboth (Saturday). We talked about how we hoped to find someone who could roll the large stone away from the tomb. For we knew that it was too heavy for the three of us to move it. We also feared the guards standing outside the tomb would not let us in. As we approached the cave we noticed that the stone was already rolled away to the side of the tomb, and the body of Jesus was gone. All that was left was the cloths that had been wrapped around His body. Even the guards were gone. I thought that someone had taken His body away. I ran to the city and found Peter and the others and told them that they had taken Jesus' body away. They came to see for themselves. After they had left I stayed there in the garden and went back inside the cave and cried. I was so sad that I had lost my best friend. my Lord was dead and now they had taken His body away.
Then I heard a voice say "Woman, why are you crying?" I looked up and saw 2 angels dressed in white garments.
I ran and fell at His feet. As I reached out to touch Him He stopped me. "Do not touch me, for I have not yet ascended to My Father in Heaven.
One stood at the head and the other at the foot of where Jesus' body had been. "They have taken my Lord Away," I said, "and I do not know where they have put Him." Then there was someone else standing behind me at the mouth of the tomb. The morning light was behind Him. "Woman, Who are you looking for, and why are you crying?" He asked. I thought it might have been one of the gardeners, so I said, "Sir, if you have taken Him away, please tell me where and I will come and anoint His body." The man stepped forward, His face was full of light, His expression pure like the sun itself. "Mary", He said. It was just the way He had said it many times before. No one said my name like He does. Then I knew that it was Jesus, standing there in front of me. JESUS WAS ALIVE!
But go and tell my other friends that I am here and you have seen me. Tell them to wait in Jerusalem. I will meet them there soon." Then Jesus disappeared. I was so full of excitement and joy, My Lord was alive! I hurried off to tell the good news to the disciples.
John 20:1
20:1 The first [day] of the week cometh Mary Magdalene
early, when it was yet dark, unto the sepulchre, and seeth
the stone taken away from the sepulchre.
John 20:11
20:11 But Mary stood without at the sepulchre weeping: and
as she wept, she stooped down, [and looked] into the
sepulchre,
John 20:12
20:12 And seeth two angels in white sitting, the one at
the head, and the other at the feet, where the body of
Jesus had lain.
John 20:13
20:13 And they say unto her, Woman, why weepest thou? She saith
unto them, Because they have taken away my Lord, and I
know not where they have laid him.
John 20:14
20:14 And when she had thus said, she turned herself back,
and saw Jesus standing, and knew not that it was Jesus.
John 20:17
20:17 Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet
ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say
unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father;
and [to] my God, and your God.
John 20:19
20:19 Then the same day at evening, being the first [day] of
the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples
were assembled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus and stood
in the midst, and saith unto them, Peace [be] unto you.
John 20:23
20:23 Whosoever sins ye remit, they are remitted unto
them; [and] whosoever [sins] ye retain, they are
retained.
John 20:24
20:24 But Thomas, one of the twelve, called Didymus, was not
with them when Jesus came.
John 20:29
20:29 Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen
me, thou hast believed: blessed [are] they that have not
seen, and [yet] have believed.
John 20:30
20:30 And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence
of his disciples, which are not written in this book:
On Sunday night I had gone out for awhile, and when I returned the other disciples were excited. They said Jesus had been there to eat with them. They saw His hands and His side where the soldiers had pierced Him, and He spoke to them. This was too hard for me to believe. How could He be alive? I saw Him die. Finally I told my friends, "Unless I see the nail marks in His hands and put my finger where the nails were, and put my hand into His side, I wont believe it."
A week later we were in the same room with the doors locked. Suddenly Jesus was standing in the room. Nobody moved or dared to breathe. He greeted us in His usualy way: "Peace be with you."
Then He turned to me and held out His hands. "Come, Thomas, put your finger here, see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe."
I fell to my knees and said, "My Lord and my God." I think I would have done anything He asked. Jesus said to me, "Do you believe because you have seen me? How happy are those who believe without seeing me."
I was ashamed. And I was happy beyond words. That is why they called me doubting Thomas.

Jesus' followers met on a mountain in Galilee. Jesus appeared to more than 500 people. "I will have all power in Heaven. When the Holy Spirit comes to you, you shall have new power. Go all over the world and speak my name. Baptize in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Teach the commandments that you have learned. I will be with you, even to the end of earth."Jesus was seen at least eight times after He rose from the dead. He stayed with the disciples for forty days talking about God's kingdom.
Later Jesus led the disciples to the Mount of Olives. He lifted His hands and blessed them. As he did He started to rise from the earth. Soon He was above the clouds.

While they were looking toward Heaven, they saw angels Rejoicing and Praising God. The disciples fell to their knees and Praised God.
